Selected from the toolbar the selection tool is used once a hotspot has been created to either move, resize, set or edit the hotspot or its properties.

Click on the selection tool and then click on an existing hotspot. The drag handles for the hotpot will be displayed to indicate that it has been selected. Once the hospot is selected than you can perform the following functions on the hotspot:

  • Reposition the hotspot. Hold the left mouse button down and drag the hotspot to a new postion to reposition the hotspot. Release the left mouse button once the hospot is in the new positon.

  • Resize a rectangle or an ellipse. To resize a rectangle or an ellipse, position the mouse pointer over one of the drag handles. Once the cross-arrow cursor is visible press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the drag handle to a new position to resize the shape. Once resized, release the left mouse button.

  • Reshape a polygon. To reshape a polygon, position the mouse pointer over one of the drag handles. Once the cross-arrow cursor is visible press and hold down the left mouse button and drag the drag handle to a new position to reshape the polygon. Once that vertex has been repositioned, release the left mouse button.

  • Editing hotspots. To set or edit a hotspot, position the selection tool over the appropriate hotspot and right-click it. A pop-up menu will appear. You can select one of the editing functions such as cut, copy, paste, delete, bring to front or send to back. Alternatively by selecting the Properties option, theproperties dialog box will be displayed for that hotspot. This is where you will set or edit the hotspot's properties. Multiple hotspots can also be selected by using the selection tool. Hold down the ctrl or shift button, and left clicking each hotspot. Once all the desired hotspots have been selected, bring up the properties page to collectively modify hotspot properties. Only the hotspot properties that you have changed will be applied to all the selected hotspots.
